DAVIES ANCESTRY
My paternal great-grandfather was Thomas Davies who was born in Llanarth, Cardiganshire, Wales in about 1849. He married Hannah, daughter of Thomas and Eleanor James, who also hailed from Llanarth.
Hannah’s parents both died in 1891. Thomas died on February 23rd. and Eleanor just two months later on April 28th.

It is in the small churchyard of Capel Vicar near Llanarth.
All of my paternal ancestors were fluent Welsh speakers.

In 1881 Thomas and Hannah Davies lived in Cross Winter, Llanarth, where Thomas earned a living as a tailor.
